Staying focused! Ran at 6ish for 50 minutes at the gym and then grabbed an opportunity to run with Corinne on some San Tan trails - we did one of our fav's at 5 miles. It was so quiet, we didn't see anybody out there, and it was just before sundown - beautiful! There is just something about being out there, in nature, seeing things you haven't noticed before, feeling the trail under your feet, hearing your breath, relaxing into your run and than feeling the end of your run in your muscles as you finish. Training for the Prize
This is starting to get real, in the last 24 hrs I have run 3 X on various terrain . I started out in the gym with usual suspects, then to the trail all up all down from the moment you get on this particular trail (off of wagon wheel) you are working it hard. We (Ann and I) did this in 34 minutes, that felt good. Small children were asking if there was a race on the mountain, and yes there was. Where we are concerned, the competitive natural of it all always makes an appearance. Ann finished a whole minute sooner than me. She is fierce. Then back to the gym for a 5am finish. Getting strong!!!!!! We will be planning a test run at the race site in the coming weeks to see how our training needs to be fine tuned. Keep doing what your doing and we will see you there.

Shout out to the Seville Sole Sisters
Went up to Scottsdale to support the ladies in our community, aka, Seville Sole Sisters. This phenomenal group of women in Seville has raised more than $65k for the SGK foundation. In case you don't know, they walk 60 miles in 3 days. After only being there about 3 hours, I felt emotional about the dedication of the walkers and the loving support of all the "spectators". We cheered on Terri Broker (2 time cancer survivor), Lisa G., and the other walkers. I was reminded that without our health, we don't have much...........we are not promised tomorrow, so make the most of today! I was inspired to stay on track with my personal training, and to be grateful to God for second chances!
San tan fabulous
Made it to our lovely trail around the 9am hour, and it was buzzing with activity. There were boyscout troops swarming the parking lot, but that is where they would stay (not to crowd the trails) confined to the facility inner horse parking for all activities(yessssss). My companion Ann had plans to do our usual loop, but I had other plans. The trek would be part of the training Megan has devised for us. I have to say this was a good day. We pushed ourselves hard up and down and up and down both sides of what we like to call "BIG BERTHA". As we passed the same people on our up that we passed on the way down, they were none to pleased. This was great endurance building for me (legs very soar all the next day) . We also have to give a shout out to all those walkers in support of Breast Cancer. We went and cheered them on in there 60 mile 3day walk that took place over this past weekend. That was an incredible event.
We will see you there!

I was reminded of one of my favorite scriptures today...."Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize. Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training....I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." 1Corinthians 9:24-27. San Tan Saturday morning at 9am!

walking with the sisters
What a beautiful morning!!!!!!!!We took a day off from running and did a neighborhood walk (I still may run later this afternoon lol) the time is right to get out there when its not too cold(round the 9oclock hour) and not to warm .....just perfect. The strollers were loaded and we were off. The company could not be better, just sharing our lives and burning some calories. God really has put it on my heart to share this love of Him and being physically fit with others. We will be running the trail at San Tan as well this Saturday, would love to see you there. Give a shout out if you can make it.

change of plans
So the 6am run did not happen, due to unforeseen events. The good news is that the we did get to run in the afternoon...Praise the Lord. The air was crisp as a fall apple, wow what a difference a day makes. God has given us this incredible track right in our backyard, I feel so privileged to be able to enjoy what God has created for us. We had a challenging run (still a little sore from the day prior) feeling stronger everyday, Ann was having a strong run(left me in her dust a couple of times) she has awesome down hill legs. Today is a rest day, back at it on Monday....its spin class for those of you who get to the gym by 8am...join us!!!!!!!

Saturday Sunrise!
OK Ladies, get your running shoes on....we are on tomorrow morning at 6am to train on San Tan. We will do 5-7 miles. And even though I'm not a fan of getting up early on the weekends, I know God will bless our efforts with a beautiful sunrise and a great run! Ps 65: 8, ....where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy.
Getting Strong
What a treat to get out doors and it not be over 100 degrees. We did a afternoon run at San Tan, nothing like getting off that treadmill and testing out your endurance on some challenging terrain, and that it was, up the back side of what we like to call" BIG BERTHA ". It was a real test of our endurance, and I am pleased to say we did very well. Next run is Saturday same place but will do both sides of this challenging climb, hope to see you there.

Back on Track
OK friends, so I was doc mom for over a week as Quinn had a fever of 103-105 for an entire week. After cultures and blood tests, no one could figure out what he had so with Mike out of town, no training for Ann. So, yeah! I'm training again. I ran last Friday and shaved off 5 minutes on my 5 miles. Yesterday, I did spin with Patty at the gym and I almost threw up! Definitely training for strength in that class. Today I slow ran on an incline of 7 for 30 minutes, stretched, and did legs. Tomorrow I'm endurance running! It hurts so good!
Ruth 3:1-18 "....I will do whatever you say...." I love how Ruth trusted Naomi and was encouraged by her faith.
